WRITING + ART

We accept non-fiction, political pieces, fiction, poetry & prose and reviews. Art pieces (including but not limited to: paintings, drawings, photography and digital art) are accepted at a limited rate. Issue 2 EOIs are due on the 5th of January. We welcome any form of creative expression that can be published on the written page, including speech transcripts.

Please send your application to hysteria.litmag@gmail.com. We read all submissions within 21 days and will contact you if there is interest in publishing a piece written by you

All submissions must be previously unpublished both online and in print (prior submissions to competitions are dependent on licensing). We allow for simultaneous submissions providing you notify us immediately if the piece is accepted for publication elsewhere. You can submit either a finished piece or a pitch for an issue.

Please email us if you have any queries about submission requirements.

Submissions for literature require either:

  • 1-2 writing samples + piece pitch (synopsis of idea, importance of idea) OR

  • Finished piece

Submissions for art and graphic design require:

  • 1-3 sample pieces

Translations of original work are welcomed provided they come attached with an English transcript.

Due to the student-run nature of the magazine we do not accept physical submissions nor do we maintain a physical mailbox. If you wish to get into contact with us, please reach out via email.
